The Orangutan! Contrary to popular belief, their name does not in fact mean ‘Mr Tickle’ but ‘forest person’. They do have long arms though don’t they, all we need is a little blue hat. Up to an 8ft wingspan and seven times as strong as their puny human cousins, they would of course be able to tickle you to shreds. Bit of a gory children's book, but it’s how they learn. Orangutans make nests by hastily pulling together leafy branches, sometimes adding roofs when it’s wet, and they will happily eat with their feet. Babies stay with their mum for the first seven years to learn everything they need to know, and whilst the males may look majestic with their big weird puffy fat face flanges, they are sent away after mating and spend something like 90% of their time alone. Bit like your Uncle George.
